Der Weg zur Erleuchtung führt durchs Alptraum-Land
The Chant spielt auf einem spirituellen Rückzugsort, der sich auf einer abgelegenen Insel befindet. Nachdem ein gemeinsames Gesangsritual schrecklich schief geht, öffnet sich ein Portal zur Albtraumdimension "The Gloom". Jetzt heißt es für Protagonistin Jess zu überleben und sich gegen eine Vielzahl prismatischer Schrecken zu wehren, die durch das Ritual entfesselt wurden.
Ab jetzt ist Vorsicht geboten: "The Gloom" ernährt sich von negativer Energie! Die düstere Dimension beginnt Jess und die anderen der Gruppe in den Wahnsinn zu treiben. Dabei nutzt sie die Ängste und Befürchtungen aller und manifestiert sie als interdimensionale Kreaturen: The Chant nimmt die Spieler mit auf eine nie da gewesene Reise des psychedelischen Horrors!
Aber es ist noch nicht alles verloren: Wer die Geheimnisse eines New-Age-Kults aus den 1970er Jahren entschlüsselt und gleichzeitig Geist, Körper und Seele stärkt, kann die Auswirkungen des missglückten Rituals umkehren und der Gefangenschaft in der Finsternis entfliehen.
