Outward, das von Nine Dots Studio entwickelte Open-World-Fantasy-Rollenspiel, wird 2024 für Nintendo Switch erscheinen.
Die Switch-Veröffentlichung ist der Höhepunkt monatelanger harter Zusammenarbeit zwischen Nine Dots Studio und Sneaky Box, dem Entwickler, der die Portierung des Spiels auf die Switch leitet.
„Outward auf die Switch zu bringen, war für uns immer ein Traum", sagt Guillaume Boucher-Vidal, CEO und Creative Director von Nine Dots Studio. „Ich will ganz ehrlich sein, ich hatte meine Zweifel, dass eine Switch-Version überhaupt möglich ist."
Boucher-Vidal verwies auf technische Einschränkungen, die seine Zweifel nährten.
„Outward ist ein großes Spiel, das in einem so seltsamen Kontext entstanden ist und einige sehr spezifische technische Einschränkungen hat", so Boucher-Vidal.
„Das Team von Sneaky Box hat mit dieser Portierung wirklich ein Kaninchen aus dem Hut gezaubert. Ich bin froh, dass es nun eine weitere Möglichkeit gibt, unser Spiel zu spielen, und mit Geräten wie dem Steam Deck und der Nintendo Switch ist es sehr passend, dass unser Spiel nun reisefreundlich ist."
Outward ist ein Rollenspiel, das in der Welt von Aurai angesiedelt ist, wo man sich als gewöhnlicher Abenteurer gegen bedrohliche Kreaturen verteidigt, gefährlichen Umweltbedingungen trotzt und sich gesund und hydriert halten muss.
Auf der Reise durch die Wildnis entdeckt man Städte und gefährliche, versteckte Verliese, in denen es von furchterregenden Feinden wimmelt.
Die Definitive Edition enthält das Hauptspiel sowie die zwei DLCs „Three Brothers” und “The Soroboreans“.
