Prime Matter et Smilegate s’associent pour la sortie en 2022 de leur nouvelle franchise, Crossfire: Legion, un jeu d’action futuriste créé par le studio canadien spécialisé dans les STR, Blackbird Interactive. Cet accord d’édition permet à Prime Matter de s’occuper des versions physiques et dématérialisées du jeu, sur toutes les plateformes.
Les joueurs ont pu bénéficier d’un premier aperçu de ce titre pendant le Summer Game Fest de Geoff Keighley le 10 juin 2021, durant lequel Koch Media a annoncé son nouveau label premium d’édition, Prime Matter.
Blackbird Interactive qui s’occupe du développement de Crossfire: Legion, a été fondé en 2010 par Rob Cunningham, ancien directeur artistique sur Homeworld 1 et 2, avec des vétérans de l’industrie vidéoludique qui ont travaillé sur des jeux tels que Gears of War et Company of Heroes.
