Retro Games kondigt vandaag aan dat de THEA500® Mini, een volledig gelicenseerde versie van de geliefde 16-bit computer, nu in productie gaat en vanaf 25 maart 2022 verkrijgbaar zal zijn.
De volledige lijst met inbegrepen games is over de afgelopen maanden aangekondigd, met als laatste aankondiging het innovatieve Stunt Racer van gamesindustrie legende Geoff Crammond. Deze baanbrekende game werd oorspronkelijk hoog beoordeeld tijdens de lancering in 1989, met scores van 93% in Amiga Format magazine en 92% in CU Amiga-64. Recent werden ook Arcade Pool en Project-X Special Edition 93 van Team 17, F-16 Combat Pilot van Digital Integration en Super Cars II van Gremlin aangekondigd.
Met deze aankondigingen is het volledige aantal games opgelopen tot 25, waarvan elke titel een hoog aangeschreven en bekroonde Amiga-klassieker is. Als je eigenaar bent van andere originele Amiga games, dan zijn deze speelbaar via de WHDLoad-functie van de THEA500®. Gebruikers kunnen ook de setup, controller opties en weergave-instellingen aanpassen.
De launchvoorraad van de THEA500® Mini staat gepland om begin januari 2022 de fabriek te verlaten.
“De afgelopen maanden heeft mijn team hard gewerkt aan het afronden van de THEA500 Mini firmware. Ook werken we nauw samen met onze partners voor de hoogst mogelijke productiekwaliteit”, zegt Retro Games CTO Chris Smith. “Als teken van onze toewijding aan onze trouwe fans zullen we binnenkort ook een nieuwe kerst firmware update voor THEC64 uitbrengen.”
“Daarnaast blonken we altijd uit in de unboxing-ervaring en we vinden dat we dit keer alle verwachtingen overtroffen hebben, met ons best ogende product tot nu toe”, voegt Retro Games Managing Director Paul Andrews toe.
THEA500® wordt ontwikkeld door Retro Games Ltd. en gedistribueerd door Koch Media. De console komt inclusief een 2-knoppige muis in originele stijl en nieuw ontwikkelde 8-knoppige gamepad. THEA500® is vanaf 25 maart 2022 verkrijgbaar.
